Synthesis Documentation

Steps, tutorials, and examples for using the design synthesis tools and features available in Advanced Design System. This documentation is also accessible via the Help button in dialog boxes.

DSP Synthesis

Details on using a hardware implementation tool to generate a register-transfer level (RTL) implementation of a design that is optimized at the macro block-level as opposed to the gate level. Includes information on generating schematics for simulation using ADS, and implementing fixed-point designs in FPGA devices to allow for a wider range of typical communications DSP designs.

E-Syn

Details on using a specifications-based tool to synthesizes ideal filters and matching networks. Includes information on designing many different types of filters using both lumped and distributed components, and refining the design to include physical effects.

LineCalc

Details on using a software tool to synthesize ideal circuits by analyzing and synthesizing individual transmission lines. Includes information on 21 components that can be used (single and coupled transmission lines in different types of substrates) with the ADS circuit simulator to eliminate transmission errors and speed up the design process.

Note: The list of synthesis manuals displayed above is updated when you install ADS using the custom install option. The list of synthesis manuals displayed on the left reflects all manuals available with a complete install of ADS.
