VENDOR  COMPONENT  DOCUMENTATION

The optional vendor components libraries extend the capabilities of communications system design by providing online, real world components for more accurate simulation.

You must be licensed for each library you want to use. Your simulation will fail if you attempt to simulate with an unlicensed library. Keep in mind that although the Library List displays all libraries, a library part does not get loaded into memory until you select it from the list.

Note: Agilent Technologies does not include updated vendor libraries in the Advanced Design System user interface. Updated libraries may be obtained directly from the vendor. A list of vendor websites with links can be found at the following location: www.agilent.com/find/eesof-models

For information on using these components, refer to Library Sources and General Usage.

To display documentation for a component:

  • Choose Insert > Component > Component Library (or click the Display Component Library List button) from a Design window to display the Component Library List
  • Choose the component from the displayed list
  • Choose Help > Component Help to display documentation for the component

Library Sources and General Usage
Unless otherwise specified, the library components are listed in tables organized by manufacturer library group. The individual components provided in each group are listed by component name, along with relevant physical and electrical characteristics. The following table lists the source of the data, as well as the type of network in which the library can be used. The models have been developed from these sources:
  • For some models, parts were selected by the respective manufacturers specifically for use in the libraries and the measurements were extracted and validated by Agilent EEsof developers. These models are identified in the table as Validated .
  • Some models were developed by Agilent EEsof developers from manufacturer's data sheets. These models are identified in the table as Supplied.
  • Murata capacitor models are extracted and verified by Murata up to the first two self-resonant frequencies of each device.

Selection by the respective manufacturers does not guarantee that the measurements used to extract the associated models in this library are in any way typical of the vendor manufacturing process. Agilent EEsof is solely responsible for the models provided in this library. Any questions regarding the use of the models should be directed to Agilent EEsof. Most library components are available for selection in the Layout window Library List.
